USA Archery Level 1 Class

Please read the below info before registering.

When:  November 9th, 2019, USA Archery Level 1 Class

              Plan on arriving between 7:30 and 7:45 AM

Where:  Camp Pigott 25600-A Monroe Camp Road Snohomish, WA 98290.  Our classroom will be in the large yurt located behind the shower house and to the right of the Rock (Staff housing below the archery range).

Cost: Class $50, per individual, registration must be complete by October 26th.

Minimum of 6 students, Maximum of 12 students

You must be BSA registered, 15 years old to take the Level 1 class, , and 18 years old to run an archery range. 

Refund Policy 

Course fees will be fully refunded if cancellation notification is received by the Scout Office before October 26th, or if class is canceled by Council. Fees will not be refunded after October 26th due to advance ordering of course materials. Course fees may be transferred to another person. Call the council office if a fee transfer is required.

 

USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Class at Camp Pigott on November 9, 2019.

 

Becoming a certified USA Archery Instructor not only provides you with valuable knowledge and hands-on skills, but also boosts the quality of our BSA archery program.  Instructor Certifications are recognized by both USA Archery and the National Field Archery AssociationPlease plan on volunteering for a minimum of 2 shooting sports days at Camp Pigott in the next two years to both hone your skills and support Chief Seattle Council’s shooting sports programs.

All course materials and equipment will be provided (books, tests, paperwork, stretch band, bows, arrows, etc.). Participates should bring, pen, highlighter, comfortable footwear/clothing, weather appropriate clothing.  Training will involve classroom, indoor, and outdoor settings.  Please bring a sack lunch and snacks.

 

Level 1 Instructor Class – Saturday November 9th. 8 AM – approximately 6 PM.  Level 1 course fee: $50

The Level 1 course will focus on introducing basic archery skills to beginners, safety, range set-up, basic equipment repair, and basic shooting steps as well as how to conduct basic archery instruction and group lessons.  Students MUST attend the entire class to be certified.

Level 1 Course Objectives:

  • Learn and be able to demonstrate proper archery range setup and safety
  • Learn and be able to demonstrate basic archery equipment setup and repair for both recurve and basic compound bows and arrows
  • Learn and be able to demonstrate and teach the basic steps of shooting for the sport of archery

Prerequisite for the USA Archery Level 1 Class: must be 15 years of age to take the class, 18 years old to run a range.

 

We ask that you commit to volunteering for at least two upcoming Shooting Sports events at Camp Pigott in the next two years.
